Your Gift at Work

As a non-profit agency, BRIDGES relies extensively on philanthropic support to sustain everything that we do. Our programs are either free-of-charge or priced just to cover costs, not to make a profit.

BRIDGES has several contribution levels, from Supporter (less than $250) to Visionary ($20,000 or more). Every gift, regardless of the amount, is gratefully received and put to work advancing the mission of developing leaders in the fight against racism, poverty and educational challenges.

Ways to Give

• Memorials/Honorariums - Gifts in memory of a family member or friend, in honor of an individual or in recognition of a special occasion, express what words alone cannot and provide important support for BRIDGES.

• Gifts-in-Kind - Non-cash gifts of personal property, equipment, and supplies are welcome and appreciated. Contact Linda Jackson to make arrangements for your gift-in-kind to BRIDGES.

• Double Your Contribution with a Matching Gift. Many corporations offer matching gift programs. Most match contributions dollar for dollar but there are some that match 2 to 1 and even 3 to 1. This is a great opportunity that allows you to double or triple your gift to BRIDGES. Contact your human resources office for a matching gift form and return it to:

You can make your gift to BRIDGES by any of the following methods:

• Make your check payable to BRIDGES and mail to the above address.

• BRIDGES accepts VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Make your gift using our secure donation form or call the development office at 901-260-3755 or fax to 901-320-1004.

• Electronic funds transfer is an easy, secure and convenient way to give to BRIDGES. We automatically debit your checking or savings account each month for the amount you specify. You can terminate this agreement at any time. For more information contact Allison Brownlow or call 901-260-3755.

Creative Giving

Contributing a direct, outright gift of cash is not the only way to give to BRIDGES. Here are several creative ways you can support BRIDGES:

1. Make a bequest to BRIDGES through your will.

2. Give appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds to BRIDGES.

3. Make BRIDGES a beneficiary of your or your spouse’s pension or profit-sharing plan.

4. Name BRIDGES as owner and beneficiary of an existing, paid policy, or a new life insurance policy. You will receive an immediate income tax deduction for an existing policy or deductions for continuing annual premiums on a new policy.

5. Establish a charitable trust with BRIDGES as the designated charity.

6. Honor loved ones through honorary and memorial gifts to BRIDGES.

7. Make either an outright gift of real estate to BRIDGES or create a life estate that allows you to continue to use and enjoy the real estate for a period of time.
