Work Bridge

Work Bridge is the workforce development arm of BRIDGES, providing employment services to more than 3,000 individuals annually, all referred by the Tennessee Department of Human Services. The program is comprised of three areas: Career Services, Career Skills Trainings and Job Development.

Career Services

The Career Service area focuses on providing fundamental training in employability skills. Participants explore their career interests and develop career tracking plans that they will follow to gain the viable employment that eventually leads to self-sufficiency. Participants receive pre-and post-employment job coaching to provide ongoing support for up to one year after employment is gained. For more information, email Robin Greer
 or call her at 901.260.3718.

Career Skills Training

As an authorized post-secondary institution of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, BRIDGES currently offers skill-specific training programs open to the general public: Certified Nursing Assistant, Office Professional and Microsoft Desktop Support Technician. There is a tuition fee associated with all programs. For more information, email Renee McCreight or call her at 901.260.3735.

Job Development

BRIDGES is privileged to have dedicated community partners that provide job opportunities to those who successfully complete the Work Bridge program. As part of the effort to bring job opportunities to participants, BRIDGES hosts career fairs throughout the year. A number of our partners, such as FedEx, SunTrust Bank, and St. Jude ALSAC, participate in the career fairs on a regular basis.  In addition, the Work Bridge program trains participants for skill-specific jobs identified by various employers. Employers participating in this program can potentially earn the Welfare-to-Work and Work Opportunity Tax Credits. For more information contact Renee McCreight or call her at 901.260.3735.
