Junior Year of Bridge Builders

Before getting into all the requirements and reminders of taking part in the Bridge Builders program, check out this short video overview.


Requirements and Reminders

Requirements:
* Focus areas: Diversity Appreciation (August- October), Community Action (November- January), and Leadership (February- April).
* Juniors must obtain 2 credits for each focus area.

Keeping In Touch:
* Year Of Dates
* Monthly Newsletter
* Weekly Updates
* Parents, Students, and Sponsors all receive important information.
* Mid-Year Letter
* Contact information for all staff and reminders in all newsletters and weekly updates.

Rules:
* Must sign up for all meetings, when it is required, starting at 6:00 A.M. on the FIRST of every month
* Sign up online on the BRIDGES website (www.bridgesusa.org/bridgebuilders) after reading the newsletter.
* Wear BB shirt to every meeting
* Be on time!
* As parents, make sure that your student is picked up on time as well. We will have a five minute grace period at the conclusion of every meeting, after which it will be $1.00 per every minute late.
* Must make credit requirements for each focus area

How To Sign Up…
* Go to www.bridgesusa.org/bridgebuilders
* Click on the newsletter for that month in the right-hand column and read through it entirely
* Go back to www.bridgesusa.org/bridgebuilders
* Click “Sign Up for Meetings” on the right-hand column right above the newsletter
* Click on the meeting date that you would like to attend.
* Enter in all of the information requested on the sign up page
* Click “submit”
* A page displaying your confirmation of sign up should pop up after you submit your request

Parental Expectations:
* Help out and encourage participation of your student at BRIDGES and Bridge Builders® fundraising events.
* Lovingly encourage your child to participate fully throughout the two years.
* Read the monthly Blue Prints Newsletter online at www.bridgesusa.org/bridgebuilders and encourage your Bridge Builder to do the same.
* Make sure that your student is on time to every meeting, and that they are picked up promptly at the end. There will be a five minute grace period for pickup after which there will be a fee of $1.00 per minute late.
* Inform the Bridge Builders® staff of changes to contact information, barriers to student participation, and positive changes you have seen in your child as a result of Bridge Builders® participation.
* Speak out in the community about the Bridge Builders® experience.
